Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could help the party access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Fans can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
